Artist's Description
I first heard of Corbitt while watching an episode of Classic Tractor Fever where they mentioned Corbitt had built trucks along with tractors. I found the CorbittTrucks.com website and discovered this rare and unusual design from 1951 and decided to build my own version in 3D. The cab reminds me of an old cash register with its tall curved front end and I decided to give my version an Army olive drab paint scheme since Corbitt built trucks for the military during World War Two. The Corbitt Trucks website has some photos of one of these vehicles during and after restoration plus other interesting vehicles too. I built my 3D digital model using Art of Illusion and Gimp 2 was used for touch-up work on the final rendering. The color maps were made from photographs of samples painted on cardboard with acrylic craft paint and enhanced with digital airbrushing. Thanks for looking!
About Stuart Swartz
I work in a wide variety of mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture and computer graphics. I grew up drawing cartoons and building model cars, tanks and planes so naturally this interest has had a big influence upon my artwork. I am especailly interested in antique machinery and vehicles of all kinds. Over the last couple years I've had several people ask about creating some Christmas cards featuring my artwork so I've added a Chritmas card gallery. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy my work! I also have T-shirts and other items featuring my artwork available on Zazzle.com, store name StusPlace
