Artist's Description

Professor Schwartze designed and built this steambike in 1895 which was capable of speeds over 55 m.p.h. but with no shock absorbers, no brakes and solid tires was a very rough ride. The rider wore special custom made leather underwear with a thick asbestos cup to protect from getting burns. Today the bike is showing its age and the solid tires are cracked but is still able to run at slow speeds.

About Stuart Swartz

Stuart Swartz

I work in a wide variety of mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture and computer graphics. I grew up drawing cartoons and building model cars, tanks and planes so naturally this interest has had a big influence upon my artwork. I am especailly interested in antique machinery and vehicles of all kinds. Over the last couple years I've had several people ask about creating some Christmas cards featuring my artwork so I've added a Chritmas card gallery. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy my work! I also have T-shirts and other items featuring my artwork available on Zazzle.com, store name StusPlace
